Hello, and thanks for visiting.
This page is dedicated to finding permanent homes for our yard cats. Which are like barn cats, without the barn! 😀 Some of them have been living here longer than we have. We provide food and shelter, and do our best to socialize them – with varying degrees of success! Unfortunately, being on a farm, there is a high mortality rate for outdoor cats. Where we live, there are a number of predators, including coyotes, bears, bobcats, eagles, hawks and owls. Of course, cars are another risk as well.
Cats being cats, they have kittens. In 2019, we were able to create a maternity ward, if you will, for a couple of mamas, which allowed us to finally socialize and litter train them and their kittens. In 2020, we created a maternity ward in our basement.
While we intend to continue to care for them, we would much rather they be adopted as indoor cats, where they can get the care and attention we can’t give them.
